Samarpan Maiti, a cancer researcher from Kolkata, emerged second runner-up in this year’s Mr. Gay World, held at Knysna in South Africa. The crown went to Australia’s Jordan Bruno while the first runner-up was Ricky Devine-White from New Zealand. Samarpan Maiti, a 29-year old student of bio-chemistry who is waiting for his PhD degree on brain cancer from a reputable central institute with his thesis, surprised the jury with his performance at the contest.

Maiti made it to the final round after winning the Mr Gay World India 2018, which was held in Mumbai in January.
