As announced on Smackdown, WWE will be crowning a new United States Champion very soon now that Dolph Ziggler has relinquished the title. Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal have qualified to move on in the tournament, but a bracket for the tournament was not provided by WWE until now. Cathy Kelley revealed the brackets during a new video on WWE’s YouTube channel. It appears that Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley will face off again with the winner then going on to face Bobby Roode. Xavier Woods and Aiden English will then square off to face Jinder Mahal in the second round. Check out the brackets for the tournament posted below:
Gail Kim is a celebrated wrestler who had great success in both WWE and TNA Wrestling during her career. She recently concluded her time in the ring, but she is very much still involved with Impact Wrestling. After news of Kim appearing on a USO tour with WWE’s Alicia Fox and The Miz surfaced online, some assumed that this meant that Kim was on her way back to the company. PWInsider has now reported that Kim will be staying put in Impact for now. Kim was apparently part of the tour because her husband, celebrity chef Robert Irvine, was also part of the tour. Kim will continue to work as a producer in Impact for now.
Impact Wrestling pay-per-views do not occur as often as they once did, but the company does still go out of the way to do one every so often. The company held their annual Bound for Glory event not too long ago, and it looks as though they now have a pay-per-view lined up for early 2018. PWInsider has reported that the Lockdown event will be coming back on pay-per-view in either late April or early May 2018. Lockdown was a traditional pay-per-view from Impact for several years since 2005. The event last aired on pay-per-view in 2014 and has since been airing as a special episode of Impact Wrestling each year on television.
