MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team continues Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action this week with a pair of duals on the road. The Dragons open the week on Thursday at Minot State (7 p.m. dual) and wrap up the weekend at Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday (3 p.m.).

The Dragons enter the week 4-5 overall and 0-4 in the NSIC. They fell in their last dual meet action on Feb. 5, losing to No. 2-ranked St. Cloud State 45-0.

Sophomore Blake Bosch is 18-8 at 133 pounds to lead the Dragons, while senior Michael Joseph is 14-9 at 174. Sophomore Garret Hoffner is 11-5 at 157 while sophomore Isaac Novacek is 12-9. Also over .500 this season for MSUM are sophomore Shane Novak (9-7 at 125), senior Shawn Porter (12-11 at 184) and sophomore Nader Abdullatif (13-12 at 285).

Kris Nelson is in his sixth season as MSUM’s head coach.

About Minot State: The Beavers are 5-13 overall and 2-5 in the NSIC. They have lost four matches in a row, including home losses to Southwest Minnesota State (25-15) and No. 17 Augustana (38-9) on Feb. 6 and 7, respectively. Sophomore Mitchell Eull is 22-13 at 285 pounds for Minot State while freshman Tanner Crissler is 15-13 at 141. Redshirt freshman Cody Haugen is 16-15 at 149. Robin Ersland is in his fifth season as Minot State’s head coach.

About SMSU: The Mustangs are 8-7 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC. They will face Concordia College and St. Cloud State prior to facing the Dragons. Leading the way for SMSU is senior Cole Wilson at 285 pounds with a 26-3 mark, followed by senior Jacob Begin is 22-3 at 174 pounds. Freshman Jordan Beihn is 18-8 at 133 for the Mustangs. Jesse Nelson is in his eighth season as the SMSU head coach.
