Jets tight end Chris Herndon pleaded guilty in Rockaway Township, NJ, on Wednesday to driving while intoxicated in connection with a June 2 crash, reported.

He could be looking at a suspension from the NFL, now that the case has made its way through the courts.

The 22-year-old Herndon avoided jail time but had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and was slapped with $639 in fines in Rockaway Township Municipal Court, a court official told

Herndon and a 76-year-old man escaped serious injury in June when Herndon’s vehicle crashed into the 76-year-old’s SUV around 4:45 a.m. Herndon blew a 0.14 after the crash, nearly twice the legal limit, according to reports.

Reportedly, Herndon was going over 100 miles per hour at the time of crash, and his SUV flipped and slid some 700 feet.

Herndon’s plea comes after a bright rookie season with the Jets, as he became a security blanket for Sam Darnold en route to more than 500 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
