MILLERSVILLE, MD — A Millersville man is charged with murder for allegedly beating his mother to death in an argument over the Ku Klux Klan. Anne Arundel County Police say they found 53-year-old Rhonda Mack-Dickerson lying dead on the floor of her home in the 8200 block of Daniels Purchase Way in Millersville; her son had told a friend that he had assaulted his mother and she was unconscious.
Torian Andrew Mack, 23, of the 8200 block of Daniels Purchase Way in Millersville, is being held without bond on one count of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder. Police were called shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the victim’s home, and spotted blood near the rear sliding glass door. Mack-Dickerson was dead from an “apparent violent assault,” police said, and Torian Mack was also inside the residence.
During an argument, Torain Mack began violently assaulting his mother, investigators say. The medical examiner ruled her death was from multiple head and neck injuries, with the manner being homicide.
The Capital cites charging documents that say Mack told officers he was “tired of my mom calling me a liar” after he told her he was beaten up by the Ku Klux Klan. “I told her I got beat up by the KKK and she called me a liar so I had to show her what it was like to get beat up by four or five grown men,” he told police, according to court documents. “She knows I’m a black belt in martial arts and knew what was coming.”
Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure said Mack’s claim that he was assaulted by members of the Ku Klux Klan appears invalid.
