A world without NBC’s hit show This Is Us is one I don’t want to live in. Beth and Randall’s endearing marriage, Toby’s charm and cheeky romantic gestures, and of course, Hot Dad Jack keep me coming back every single Tuesday—along with the writers’ emotion-drenched script, if we’re being honest. Thankfully, the tears and heartaches (I’m still not over William’s death) won’t have to stop anytime soon because This Is Us is sticking around for three (!) more seasons.

This Is Us‘s official Twitter announced the news in an emotional video (I cried) on Sunday night, May 12, that began with a clip of Jack’s speech to his adopted son, Randall, from the “Career Days” episode in season one. Sterling K. Brown, who plays older Randall in the show, retweeted the good news, writing, “Wow. THREE more seasons!!! 🤯 #ThisIsUs” and followed up with a video of him and Susan Kelechi Watson dancing twerking to celebrate.

“In a television landscape with nearly 500 original scripted series, there are very few, if any, that have the critical and cultural impact of ‘This Is Us’ and we couldn’t be more proud to bring fans three more seasons of a show that so well represents the NBC brand,” Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment, told Variety. “A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling.”

This is the second time This Is Us has had a multi-season renewal. Following its debut season, the show was picked up for seasons two and three. But with three more seasons on the horizon, we’re inching closer and closer to the end, which may come after season six airs. This Is Us showrunner Issac Aptaker previously told Deadline that the team has mapped out “about three seasons in the future” before calling it quits.
