Impact Wrestling has officially confirmed that their signature spectacle – the Ultimate X match – will be making its return at the promotion’s upcoming Impact Homecoming pay-per-view event on Sunday, Jan. 6th.
Ultimate X has been a staple gimmick match of the X-Division for more than 15 years, with the first version of the bout taking place in 2003 between Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane and Chris Sabin. There have been 41 incarnations of the bout, with Sabin participating in an astonishing 17 of them.

As previously reported, Brian Cage recently vacated the X-Division Championship exercising the “Option C” clause to cash-in the belt for an opportunity at the Impact World Championship. That bout will also be going down at Impact Homecoming.
A four-man Ultimate X match will take place to crown a brand new champion at the pay-per-view, with participants qualifying for their spot over the next few weeks.
