FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Jets’ draft pick is set.
They will be picking No. 3 overall in April’s NFL draft after finishing the season 4-12 following Sunday’s 38-3 loss to the Patriots. They had a shot to move into the top spot Sunday, but the 49ers lost to the Rams and the Cardinals lost to the Seahawks, keeping the Jets in third.
It will be the second straight season the Jets pick third. Last year they traded into the third spot from No. 6 in a deal with the Colts. They used that pick to take quarterback Sam Darnold.
The last time they earned a pick as high as three without trading into it was 1997, when they had the No. 1 pick but traded it to the Rams.
Even though the Jets have to wait until April to find out the order of their schedule, they now know whom they will be playing.
The home schedule looks like this: Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Giants, Cowboys, Patriots, Dolphins and Bills.

The away schedule is: Jaguars, Bengals, Ravens, Eagles, Redskins, Patriots, Dolphins and Bills.
It would not be surprising if the Jaguars game is in London. Jets owner Woody Johnson currently is the ambassador to the United Kingdom, and the NFL may want to have the Jets play in London while he is in that role. The Jets last played in London in 2015.
The Jets finished in last place in the AFC East. That is why they will play the Raiders and Jaguars, who both finished last in their respective divisions.

DE Henry Anderson was called for a questionable roughing-the- passer penalty in the second quarter on a third down at the Jets’ 18-yard line that kept a drive alive and allowed the Patriots to score a touchdown. Anderson barely touched Tom Brady on the play, but the referee flagged him.
“I mean, it’s dumb by me, but I don’t know exactly,” Anderson said. “I mean, I’m running full speed at him, and unless I dive out of the way to avoid him, that’s the only way I don’t hit him. I was trying to slow down, but he continued running into the path that I was running in. … I don’t exactly know what I’m supposed to do there except jump out of the way.”
Darnold has something to learn about end-of-year presents for his offensive linemen. Darnold gave them each a personalized set of grilling tools and a $300 gift card to buy steaks. Apparently, that was not enough. Someone took the front wheels off of Darnold’s truck at the Jets training center late last week — which was documented by Jamal Adams on Instagram — in an apparent prank response to the cheap gifts.
