New WWE World Hvt. champion Sheamus joined Michael Cole for the weekly sit-down interview on WWE’s website released Wednesday afternoon.

Cole opened the storyline-driven interview by asking Sheamus when he decided to cash in his MITB briefcase to win the WWE Title from Roman Reigns.

Instead, Sheamus went on a long story about his entire Sunday night, including have a few adult beverages watching the PPV, watching Reigns and Dean Ambrose tear each other apart in the finals, and waiting to see if Reigns would take Triple H’s latest “opportunity” to join The Authority.

Sheamus avoided the implied question of whether he was in cahoots with The Authority, simply saying when Reigns turned down Hunter, he saw his chance to cash in and ruin Reigns’s celebration.

Sheamus also vowed to beat Reigns in their TLC re-match in two weeks, citing his successful history with tables and ladders. Notably, Sheamus beat John Cena in a tables match at the 2009 TLC PPV to win his first WWE Title and he won the MITB briefcase in a ladder match earlier this year.

As for fans hating on his title victory, Sheamus’s voice cracked with excitement about not caring what anything thinks. “I’m a four-time WWE champion, Mike!” he gloated. “When it’s all said and done, the only question for the WWE Universe will be ‘Who looks stupid now?’”
